Importing and Exporting Chrome Search Engines

NOTE: If you are a support member wanting to just import a base set of useful search engines, click here to skip to the Import section below

Disclaimer: for the scripts to work you have to be on this page in chrome when you run them: chrome://settings/searchEngines

Exporting Steps:

1. Create a bunch of search engines with easy to remember names (instructions here under "Add, edit, or remove other search engines")
2. After you've got the search engines setup run the export script below from the browser console (OPTION+CMD+i) while viewing the chrome://settings/searchEngines page 
   
3. Upload the exported file somewhere so the support team can download it

Importing Instructions:

1. Download the search_engines file at the bottom of this doc
2. Navigate to chrome://settings/searchEngines
3. Open your browser console (OPTION+CMD+i)
4. Run the script below
5. A file dialog will pop up. 
6. Select the file that you downloaded in step 1
   
7. You can now use custom search engines by typing in their keyphrase and pressing TAB on your keyboard.
