Setting Up Debug
To use Debug there's a little bit of setup required. This is a secure system that should only be used on your Real Geeks managed Mac, and a trusted private network.
1. Download iTerm2
Start by downloading Iterm2 . This isn't required, it's just a more manageable UI the one that comes default on your Mac; Terminal.
2. Collect your IP Address
Once that's done head to whatismyipaddress.com and copy the IPv4 address provided there.
NOTE: If your network changes, so will your IP, and you will be denied access with the following message:
If you're on a trusted network, provide the new IP to Escalations. Do not use on Public/Shared Networks like Starbucks.
3. Bug Escalations
Provide your IP address to Escalations (Currently Jackson, Steve, and Joel) when you're ready to begin setup. Set aside about 30 minutes for us to screenshare.
PASSWORDS
For password changes/issues reach out to Escalations.
LIMITATIONS:
There are many better-written docs out there with many more commands intended to be used during a more civilized age, but the extent that should ever be run by support is limited to the following, and only under the prefix argument: foreground
-
foreground ./runner.py debug <BOARD#> <MLS#>
-
foreground ./runner.py refresh_property <BOARD#> <MLS#>
This may seem like a buzzkill, but these two commands are useful enough to tell us everything you need to know, and the others all have negative butterfly effect-like consequences beyond our comprehension.
