What is needed to track with Adwords

1. The client would need to use the old version of the Adwords site to get conversion code.

They would need to click the tools icon on the top right and click a message the says something like: "Revert back to old Adwords".

Here's a guide how to add a new conversion code:

As mentioned in this doc, they will need to add

2. Make sure the analytics and Adwords are linked. They need to be linked because of the goals that are set up in analytics. When they signed up with us, we should have created an analytics account for them.

(Only the site owner will be able to log into their site's analytics. The site owner can then log into the analytics with their Real Geeks credentials.  The site owner can add others to access the analytics as well. Here is a guide I found on google.)

Click here to send a link Adwords and analytics or search google for another guide if the UI has been updated. Make sure their analytics UA code is in their site settings.

You can either go in the site backend to "Site Settings" > "Common Settings" and check out their "

Or go in their MCP to "Common Setttings" > scroll down to "

If they want to add their own analytics account, then they will need to:

- add in their new UA code

- add in these analytics goals

Sidenotes:

If the client is wondering if Adwords tracks in real time, it does not.

"When a conversion is triggered from AdWords, it can take 24hrs to reflect in your account. If you imported Goals as conversions in Google Analytics, it can take 24–72hrs to reflect."

You can also send the client this walkthrough video so they understand how to properly set up their account/campaigns for best conversion.

If the client wants to see the keywords used by the client to find the site:

They would need to watch this same video and (skip to around 13:50)

Here is an example of what they want to see:
