Step 1:
**Request needs to come from the site owner
***If they are Real Leads Client you need to have confirmation of the domain update from Real Leads first!
Email to the client:
—---------------------------------------------
Hello XXX,
Can you please provide the following information so that I can verify with our board approvals team if we need a new agreement with your MLS board for the domain update:
>Broker's Name:
Broker's Email:
—---------------------------------------------
Step 2:
Post the following in #approvals_billing:
—---------------------------------------------
TICKET LINK domain name request (broker info in the ticket) do they need a new agreement?
—---------------------------------------------
Copy the slack thread link into your ticket so you can track the progress or ask for updates if need be
Step 3:
**If approvals_billings states that they do not need a new agreement or they are “good to go” continue to Step 4
Approvals_billings will send a new agreement to the agent and the broker to sign and they will also add a note in your ticket (depending on the board they may just email the broker or in some cases may just need to check with the board first, they will let you know in the slack thread or ticket notes) Example note:

Once the new agreement as been completed approvals_billings will update the ticket (or slack thread so watch both) letting you know they are approved for the change.
Step 4:
Check AWS to see if they have any MX records for their current (not new) domain. Copy these records to your ticket notes in case they state they need the same records for the new domain.
Step 5:
Go to who.is and enter the new domain name to verify who their domain provider is.

Edit the article in email to the appropriate domain provider. The common providers’ articles are found here: https://support.realgeeks.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037851434-Launching-Your-Website#taking_your_site_live
Email to the client:
—---------------------------------------------
Hello XXX,
If you could update the nameservers for your new domain to the following:
ns1.rgnameserver.com
ns2.rgnameserver.com
ns3.rgnameserver.com
ns4.rgnameserver.com
The following is GoDaddy's article on how to update these:
- [GoDaddy - Change Nameservers for my domains](https://www.godaddy.com/help/change-nameservers-for-my-domains-664)
Once this is completed let me know so I can sync it here on our side.
If you could also let me know if you need email (MX) records attached for this domain?
—---------------------------------------------
Step 6:
Once they have updated the nameservers follow the steps in the internal article here: https://support.realgeeks.com/hc/en-us/articles/219137097-Changing-Domain-Names#if-they-are-already-live--0-1
If they tell you they have email (MX) records associated with the new domain in most cases these can be updated in MCP if they are using the common domain providers. Info on that here: https://support.realgeeks.com/hc/en-us/articles/214882217-Going-Live#applying-mx-records-0-0
Once you have completed this step, email to client:
—---------------------------------------------
Hello XXX,
I have completed the update on our side and synced to the new domain information for XXXWEBSITEXXX. It can take up to 24 to 48 hours for the domain to be live, but it is usually less.
