Go Daddy is one of the most popular Domain Registrars out there and a lot of clients use them to purchase their domains. Here is how you take someone live with GoDaddy.
- First, we'll need to take them to https://www.godaddy.com/ and have them log into their account.
- From there we'll need to take them up in the top right drop arrow and have them select My Products.
- From here, we'll need to go down to the domain they wish to use for their Real Geeks website and select the Three Black Dots and select Manage DNS.
- From within Manage DNS, you'll scroll down to the Nameservers section and select Change.
- Within Change, you will want to select Enter your Own Nameservers.
- From here, you will need to enter the four nameservers below. You'll want to sure to click on the Add Nameserver button twice to get a 3rd and a 4th slot added if necessary.
- ns1.rgnameserver.com
- ns2.rgnameserver.com
- ns3.rgnameserver.com
- ns4.rgnameserver.com - BEFORE YOU HIT SAVE PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GET MX RECORDS ADDED WHEN NECESSARY.
- Go ahead and hit the SAVE Button.
- You'll get a messaging wishing for the client to consent to the changes. Go ahead and have them Consent.
- If necessary, some clients from here will get a One Time Code that they will need to select SEND CODE, and Go Daddy will email that over to their account to add on.
- After that is completed, the client should get a message saying "Feature may be unavailable at this time..." Pull up your terminal and double-check to make sure you see the nameserver change on our end. If that checks out, we are good to go!
