Adding Disclaimers

Aye matey, add disclaimer please:

  • If a board alerts us to add a disclaimer to a board with a timeframe, it is more of a priority and we add it without question.
  • If a client asks to add a disclaimer, then we must say this:

Hi ___,

You can send us the MLS documents that contain the compliance rules and the disclaimer and we'll work to add these to your site.

(it is also good to ask where it indicates the disclaimer in case they don't tell you)

After the client sends you the disclaimer, you would then go to board in mcp, http://mcp.realgeeks.com/admin/mcp/board/ and go to their board. Open an example board that has a disclaimer. It would be best to go through previous tickets about adding disclaimers to find a good example.

So in mcp, go to the "Boards" tab > scroll down to "

  • If it's an agent/site owner who gives you their version of the disclaimer, you might need to change it to look more like the original disclaimer.
  • If a board gives you a disclaimer, it is ok to paste their version.

Here is an example disclaimer from board 136:

{"136": "<p>IDX information is provided by the Indiana Regional MLS and is exclusively for the consumers' personal, non-commercial use and may not be used for any purpose other than to identify prospective properties consumers may be interested in purchasing. Data is deemed reliable but is not guaranteed accurate by the MLS.</p><br>"}

If it is a combo board, it would look like:

{"board_number" <p> Disclaimer blah blahhhhh bluurpp</p>",

"board_number" <p> This other board's disclaimer blurp </p>}

Copy what you have in the "Disclaimer Detail" and paste it in the "

After you are done, save the mcp board and also save the mcp site and you should be able to see the disclaimer.

On a combo board, both disclaimers will show if that listing is from both boards. If a listing is only from one board, then the disclaimer will only show the disclaimer from that board.
